A newly crowned king in a blue cloak faces his council across an oak table

Independent game studio · Founded 2026

We exist to make the best game for players.

Rebellion Studio is a young, fast-moving studio with a big ambition. Our first game, Beyond the King's Words, is a medieval grand strategy game where you rule through a council that argues, remembers and sometimes betrays.

In-game scene · C0-01 The First Council
The king in council with Duke Tomas and his ministers in a vaulted hall
C0-06 · The Duke's Offer. Every prologue scene has its own illustration.

Our first game

Beyond the

King's Words

You are forty, newly crowned, and your father has left you a realm that is intact, solvent and quietly rotten. Your half-brother wants the throne. The granaries are running low. Riders are gathering in the west. Rule for sixty years through the people around your table, and find out what your word is worth.

Genre
Story-led grand strategy
You play
By giving orders in your own words, or by taking your ministers' advice
Status
In development. The prologue is playable in-house.

Who we are

Young. Agile. Ambitious.

Three words we hold ourselves to, and what each one means in practice.

Young

We are a new team, and we play the games we make. We remember what made us fall for strategy games and what drove us away from them. Both shape every decision we take.

Founded 2026

Agile

Small team, short loops. Every change runs through an automated test suite before it lands, and there is a playable build every day. When something isn't fun, we fix it this week.

302 automated test files

Ambitious

We aren't aiming for good enough. We want characters who feel alive, choices with real weight, and a world that looks finished in every corner. Nothing placeholder ships.

49 feature designs in six weeks

Three villagers stand in a golden wheat field at harvest

Every feature has to answer one question before it ships: does this make the game better for the person playing it?

What we shipped lately

A royal courier in blue and gold rides a grey horse along a woodland road

Laws, decreed by courier

A new law doesn't take effect when you sign it. A rider has to carry it there first.

Mounted knights ride through a cobbled town street

Armies that need feeding

Choose how many days of supplies a march carries, then guard the road that feeds it.

A parchment battle plan with blue arrows, enemy lines in red and a wooden army piece

The War Room

A plotting table where you draw the campaign in ink before a single soldier moves.
